Below are instructions to help prepare you to travel to Ghana. All travelers to Ghana must have a valid Visa and follow the required travel requirements to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Health requirements to enter ghana
Due to the pandemic (Covid-19), Ghana has strict requirements to enter the country to ensure they keep their Covid numbers low and protect her citizens. YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS, or you will be DENIED BOARDING.
- Ghana requires all travelers to show proof of vaccination to enter the country.
- Proof of vaccination will be uploaded to your airline site prior to departure;
- Proof of vaccination will be scanned at the health desk upon arrival in Ghana.
- If you are NOT vaccinated, Ghana will administer the J & J vaccination on arrival at a cost to the traveler or you will not be allowed to enter the country.
- Ghana does not require proof of a booster shot, you only need to be vaccinated.
- Ghana only requires Covid testing if you are NOT If you are not vaccinated, you must take a PCR test 72 hours from departure. Please note, if you have a layover in another country, they count the 72 hours from your original departing city.
- PCR tests can be done free at many locations in the U.S. I recommend CVS, as they are accepted by the government of Ghana, and results are generally returned within 24-48 hours.
- Results must be then uploaded to the following site, and you will need to create an account https://africacdc.org/trusted-travel/
- Ghana requires all passengers to complete a health declaration form.
- You MUST complete this ONLINE before ARRIVAL. https://www.ghs-hdf.org/hdf/fill.php?l=en
- Upon arrival, they will ask to see your passport and check you off as having completed the health form.
